THE METER TEST

This test should be conducted over an hour period during which time no water is to be used on the property.
- Write down the numbers indicated on the water meter at the start of this test.
- Return to check the meter reading after 1 hour has passed.
- If the numbers have not changed you do not have a leak in your pressurized water service.
- If the numbers have changed this indicates there is water consumption even when water is not being used and you may have a leak and should have your service tested by a technician.

LEAK DETECTION TIPS
If you can hear the constant sound of water running (sounding like a toilet filling up) when nothing is turned on, then you should have a leak detection technician investigate immediately. The sooner the leak is found and treated then the aftermath of a leak can be drastically reduced.
